MFT Clean and Simple

My Favorite Things Stamps is running a Card Design Superstar Contest. One of the categories is Clean and Simple Genius. Sometimes knowing that you have to think minimally can really get your creativity flowing. Not only does it mean you can get a card completed very quickly, it also really showcases a single, simple element, (or in this case elephant!)


I stamped this image from the Adorable Elephants stamp set from My Favorite Things in black with their My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink Pad in Black Licorice and colored the image with Copic Markers. I then fussy cut the elephant and added foam tape to the back to pop him off of the card.

MFT Card Design Superstar Clean and Simple Genius Challenge Entry

The card base is Neenah Solar White 80 lb card stock adhered to a soft grey card stock I found in my stash. I'm sorry, the brand and color are lost to my memory, but any soft grey, heavy card stock will do. I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink in Worn Lipstick and a Ranger Mini Ink blending tool to make a little pink smudge of color to anchor the bottom right corner. I then spritzed water over the Oxide Ink to get the spots of watermarking.

I adhered the elephant over the pink smudge and stamped the very simple, "Miss you" sentiment from MFT's Woodland Friends Stamp Set. I used clear heat embossing powder to help the image have a bit of shine and stand out. And, BAM! Just like that, my card was done. I really enjoyed the simplicity and
