MFT Coloring Virtuoso Entry

My Favorite Things Stamps is running a Card Design Superstar Contest. One of the categories is Coloring Virtuoso. So I went to town coloring this adorable little cowboy from the Saddle Up and Celebrate Stamp Set. I used the Happy Birthday Script Die-Namics for the flying rope trick and finished out the scene with lots of Tim Holtz distress ink blending.

I stamped the images from the Saddle Up and Celebrate stamp set from My Favorite Things in black with their My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink Pad in Black Licorice and colored the image with Copic Markers. I used my Brother ScanNCut to help me fussy cut all the pieces.

MFT Card Design Superstar Coloring Virtuoso Challenge

The card base is Neenah Solar White 80 lb card stock cut into a regular A2 size card. But the fun part about this card is that is stands up once you open it. There's a built in little kick stand because I folded the front of the card in half horizontally and tucked it under toward the first fold.

Then I took three different colors of Tim Holtz distress ink and blended them together on a piece of white card stock. I used Lucky Clover, Mowed Lawn, and Forest Moss. Then I used the MFT Grassy Hills Die-namics to cut the grass edge and adhered it to the bottom front of my card, just high enough to cover the folded back kick-stand part of the card. I glued the Cowboy, Rope Letters, cactus couple and left over grass edges to the front of the card, and used dimensional pop up foam dots to adhere the cake. Then I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Broken China along with the MFT Mini Cloud edges stencil to blend a cloudy sky on the back of the card, (Which looks like part of the front of the card when it is folded).

I just fell in love with this little Cowboy! And I'm hoping the awesome folks at My Favorite Things like this card! Y'all wish me luck. And thanks for checking out the blog today.
